• 5 – Cscape Setup (01:30)

Step by Step process of setting up your OCS with Cscape:

  • When first opening Cscape, select File > New. This will open all of the menus.
  • Next select Tools Application Settings.
  • Uncheck Use classic Cscape Mode and uncheck use classic toolbars for logic element selection. You may also want to enable IEC Editor mode. Pressing OK will cause your current program to close.
  • Open a new program, in our case, advanced ladder. You will see that the project navigator is available. This will allow for easy access to different parts of your program, such as the main logic module and subroutines.
  • Back under tools there is the Project Toolbox which houses all of your function blocks. Pressing the push pin will dock these menus to the left, giving you more room to program.
  • Return to Tools and select Editor Options. This will allow for more customization in your program. You can set your compiler errors and warnings.
  • Be sure to check Allow or around functions.
  • There are also tabs to the left that have more options, such as changing the background color.
  • You may also want to add toolbars, by going to View > Toolbars and selecting items such as standard tools, unit communications, and status bar. They can also be docked above your ladder logic.
