The Horner PLCs with HMI are best for:
The Horner Modular Controllers with HMI Connect Displays are suited for:
• Compact machines where space is at a premium – the integrated HMI and I/O provide the smallest possible package for demanding OEM applications
• Installations where I/O is needed on the panel door. Connecting I/O directly from the OCS to buttons, indicators and meters, makes wiring from the OCS easier and more concise. You can always add OCS-I/O modules or other remote I/O onto the back panel to expand your I/O.
• Applications where the built-in I/O is a perfect fit. Micro controllers along with a great combination of digital and analog I/O, or our XL Prime and Canvas controllers have selectable options to tailor the I/O for your needs.
• OEM machines are the perfect match for our Horner PLC with HMI products. The compact all-in-one nature combines control, HMI, I/O, and networking, all together for fast and easy installation.
• Applications where you want to install most wiring in the back of a panel. I/O can wire to local or remote I/O.
• Instances where you need a more complex mix of I/O. With up to 7 local OCS-I/O modules and over 100 remote modules, you can have the I/O that you need for your application.
• Operations where the control, HMI, and I/O need to be mounted at different locations. With HMI connect you can have your HMI up to 8 meters (26 feet) from the controller with just a single cable.
• Applications where the screen can easily be damaged. Our modular controllers and HMI connect screens are rugged and tough, but some applications can be messy or see a lot of impact. If your HMI connect screen gets damaged, just plug a new one in…no programming or configuration required.
• Applications where a screen is not required. If you don’t need a local HMI the Horner modular controllers are a perfect fit. You can use WebMI for a web-based HMI experience or OCS360 for a dashboard and data management system.
PLC with HMI Series include the Micro, XL Prime, and Canvas Series
Modular Controller options include the CPU200/250 and the CPU300 with HMI Connect Displays
The Micro Series introduces a series of fixed I/O controllers, with exceptional performance and a streamlined ordering and pricing structure. These powerful and efficient controllers are well-suited to perform many of the same high-end applications as our XL Prime and Canvas, but at the price point of an introductory component.
The XL Prime Series offer new and existing users alike performance upgrades and a highly secure, modern memory architecture. This is accomplished with a new Horner designed System on Module (SOM) – containing a faster CPU, onboard mass storage and 100% non-volatile memory.
Finally, the Canvas Collection is just as the name implies – a new canvas for users to utilize a brand new set of enhanced graphics objects in Cscape 10 to give full creative freedom to create screens as technically advanced or as visually stunning as they desire. It supports WebMI+ as the next iteration of one of the best remote access tools for your PLC controllers, and also offers MQTT, numerous CAN protocols and Enhanced IEC programming support right out of the box.
The CPU200 and CPU250 are Horner’s Modular Controllers, best compared with the Micro lineup. Serial, Ethernet, and CAN communications are available as standard, as well as support for WebMI (opt) that can be used as a remote interface. It features a USB-C programming port. The CPU250 comes with a great amount of onboard I/O. Up to 34 I/O points – a whopping 16 (8 in + 8 out) of which can be configured as analog! And if that isn’t enough, it can easily be expanded with up to 7 OCS-I/O modules locally as well.
The CPU300 and HMI Connect Displays really shine with the unseen flexibility of an All-In-One controller design. It starts with a powerful multi-core SOM with performance on par with Horner’s Canvas series of controllers and includes a suite of new connectivity including USB Type C, dual ethernet ports with support for a built-in switch, and a new display connection for remote displays that Horner has branded as “HMI Connect”. This connection provides power and display/touch signals to HMI Connect displays in a simplified and robust cable connection, fit for traditional panel builds as well as harsher environments such as mobile applications.
