Position Summary

Responsible for developing detailed electrical and mechanical designs of power and control systems using industrial automation products for a variety of industrial sectors/processes. Responsible for the selection, configuration and interconnection of components for electrical control assembles and control systems and associated design documentation.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design and develop micro controller and microprocessor-based systems with communication, display interfaces and industrial I/O.
  • Experience working on DC-DC power supplies and LED lighting circuits is desirable.
  • Embedded firmware desirable but not required.
  • Create design specifications, schematics, and hardware documentation. PCB layout is desirable but not required.
  • Troubleshoot hardware issues in the development process and for field support.
  • Work with vendors on part selection and integration.
  • Manage the prototype process including testing and documenting changes.
  • Working with test engineers to accomplish UL, CE, and environmental testing.
  • Work with production engineer to hand off projects including documentation for assembly.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Bachelor’s degree with Electrical Engineering focus preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in hardware design preferred.
  • Relevant experience and knowledge in hardware architecture creation.
  • Experience in control systems, I/O, and communications desired.
  • Must be able to interact with all levels of the organization in a fast-paced environment with multiple locations (domestic and overseas)
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) is required.
  • Experience with Altium desired.
  • Analytical thinking with good problem-solving abilities, ability to work to a strict deadline and attention to detail are all qualification we will be looking for in this candidate.
  • Travel may be occasionally required for training or product development.
